Mary Marshall (Ginger Rogers) is an inmate who is allowed to go home on holiday for Christmas. During her train journey, she meets Sergeant Zachary Morgan, who has just been released from the military hospital. They like their meeting so much that Mary invites the handsome sergeant to dine at her house.
