Giraffada plot

Ten-year-old Palestinian boy Ziad is so attached to two giraffes at Qalqilia Zoo that he can communicate with them. His father Yacine, a young widower and the local vet, understands that the zoo - the only one in the occupied West Bank - is a precious haven for children to play and learn. He fights every day against the corrupt local Palestinian authorities to protect the park and ensure the animals are taken care of. One day, during an Israeli air raid, one of the giraffes, a male, is killed.
