Freeheld plot
"A true story of love and injustice."
Laurel Hester works as a detective in New Jersey. She has never been open about her sexual preference until she falls in love with Stacie Andree, a younger, openly lesbian auto mechanic. When Laurel learns she is terminally ill, she asks New Jersey lawmakers to give her police pension to Stacie in case she dies.
