Capitães de Abril plot
Activist Antónia gets into a fight with her husband Manuel about the atrocities committed by the Portuguese army during the colonial wars in Africa. During a reception, Antónia violently clashes with the head of the Secret State Police. In the middle of the night, Captain Maia summons the soldiers of his barracks and asks which of them is willing to fight with him for democracy in Portugal. Almost simultaneously, Maia's old friend Manuel and three associates occupy a well-known radio station.
