A Dispatch from Reuter's plot
"NO ONE KNOWS HIM...HIS SHADOW COVERS THE WORLD! Who is this mystery man...who changed the fate of nations?"
Baron Paul Julius Reuter, who started a 'pigeon post' messaging service in 1833, is quickly overtaken by the invention of telegraphy. Ultimately, Reuter adapts by adopting this new communication technology. Reuters is able to extend its scope to the main capitals of Europe. In 1858 Reuters has nailed itself to the English-speaking countries, but nevertheless threatens to go bankrupt due to financial mismanagement. Reuters is saved from bankruptcy in 1865 when it broadcast the news of President Lincoln's assassination before the American ambassador to England was informed. Reuters is supported in his activities by his wife Ida.
