Documentary about the legendary series of television debates in 1968 between two great political intellectuals, the liberal Gore Vidal and the conservative William F. Buckley Jr. Vidal and Buckley believed that each other's political ideologies were dangerous for America. Their explosive exchanges turned into vicious name-calling. It was unlike anything that had ever been broadcast on TV, and all the more shocking because it was live and unprepared. Viewers were glued to the TV, ABC News ratings skyrocketed, and a new era of public debate had begun.
