"His powers are his curse"
16-year-old Tom tries to stop a violent attack on his girlfriend Lucy. He is shot and ends up in a coma. When he wakes up from the coma, he discovers that pieces of his smartphone have entered his brain, giving him superhero powers. He knows and sees more than he could ever imagine. And with this incredible power comes the choice: take revenge on the violent street gang that terrorizes his girlfriend Lucy or keep a low profile?

Movie was better than expected. Started without too many expectations. Visually beautifully portrayed, certainly the night scenes. Neon colors to represent the cyber part. Furthermore original story and fairly well acted. The better Netflix work... Don't expect a typical superhero movie with flying men with capes etc. Is more of a science fiction in the contemporary time in a way that it would all be possible. A simple boy with a hacker gift in his head... 3.5 * for originality and graphic side...

Not too good. I'm willing to forgive a science fiction film a completely nonsensical premise, if there's a clever scenario to counter it. But the story of iBoy is far from clever. In addition, the nonsense keeps piling up throughout the film, to a level that is simply irritating.
Visually it's fine, and so is the cast. But still a disappointment.

Fairly strong thriller with a touch of sci-fi. The story is quite original but a bit easy without too much depth. It is not a standard superhero film but still the familiar paths are walked. The elaboration is quite good. The structure is fine and soon an exciting story unfolds with a few nice scenes. The acting is on level. Especially that of Milner. Visually the film also looks good and the special effects are okay. Nice surprising adult teen film. 3.5/4.0
