Hans Petter Moland directed this remake of his own film Kraftidioten 2014, a film that even earned Moland a nomination for a Golden Bear. This comically intended revenge thriller, however, certainly doesn't invite you to see the original, even though Liam Neeson is an excellent replacement for Stellan Skarsgård on paper. There's no story, just an excuse for a series of bloody executions that follow a set pattern that makes Cold Pursuit repeat itself over and over again. Each episode ends with a humorous intertitle. The fiercely grimacing Tom Bateman is one of the many reasons for abandoning this film, as well as the fortunes of The Eskimo [Arnold Pinnock], arguably the dumbest hit man of all time. It can't be taken seriously at all, but that doesn't mean this is funny (it isn't at all) and is certainly not a recommendation. A horror.

What a low score here!!! We watched the movie in theaters yesterday. And we thought it was SUPER!!!! Hard revenge/action movie. With beautiful images, sometimes nice humor, good actors, interesting plot twists, beautiful locations, brutal violence, etc. What more could you want? I have really enjoyed it. And I think the whole cinema was over. The hall was well packed. Nice piece with 'Aqua-Barbie Girl'. And certainly a good surprise with the little 'gay' storyline. Where did that bald, chunky guy go in the movie? Definitely one of the best in this genre. Not bored at all.

Liam Neeson always guarantees a good exciting action film (!), but this one was really mediocre...

Normally different storylines come together, here they diverge.

-The role of the local police became less and less, while it was suggested that the officer might solve the case or assist Nels.

The film cover also states that the local police are not used to much, so I can assume that they take action, but nothing could be further from the truth.

-Nels soon develops a bond with the boy and then never looks after him again.

-A wife and an ex-wife of the 2 protagonists who suddenly disappeared.

-Suddenly there is an Indian underworld that does not matter at all for the story, making Nels redundant.

And Nels' goal, which the film revolved around, (which is even mentioned as a subtitle) is eventually stolen from his feet.

The black announcement that was made with every murder with a cheerful tune underneath also ensured that the tension completely disappeared from the film.

In many cases also a shot of the shooter, where you didn't see any action.

Just to take a look at the film cover:

Nels armed to the teeth - counted:1 gun

Vibration - no, killed myself by the black blocks.

Brutally violent - beyond the many things you didn't get to see, what you did see wasn't extremely spectacular

Funny - here it goes wrong again in an action thriller, but if this means the last scene...?

Totally inappropriate for a movie like this and very unnecessary.

Because Liam Neeson played in this, my expectations were a bit higher, even during the film, but it didn't really get better unfortunately.

Shame but disappointing!

1*
