Even "Cheaper by the Dozen" (1950) with Clifton Webb fades into insignificance here compared to this, of course, family film, which seems hilarious in the second part, but in my opinion in the first part, which precedes the wedding, very funny dialogues and brings sayings.

Haven't seen much Henry Fonda in a comedy, but Lucille Ball has of course.

They do well, as does Van Johnson, in a smaller role.

A very entertaining film with a wonderfully warm and old-fashioned feel-good atmosphere. Henry Fonda & Lucille Ball are well matched and seem to enjoy their roles. The kids weren't annoying either and the movie remains entertaining.

The story of course goes in a predictable direction, but that was to be expected. In any case, I thoroughly enjoyed the sometimes rather dry humor.

3.5*

Reasonable film about a widow and widower meeting each other without knowing how many children they have together. The film has not stood the test of time very well (slow pace and humor somewhat stale at the beginning). The last part in which the daily events are shown is the best part of the film. A narrow 3.0 stars.
