I expected a little more from this. Dry humour, especially in the small details, with some hilarious moments. On average and in terms of plot just enough. The idea was nice but could have been developed much better, such as Mænd & Høns (2015).

It indeed goes in all directions, but initially it seems mainly intended as a (dry) comedy. Unlikely figures, unlikely events, fine, but unfortunately there was very little to laugh about. Towards the end there was more and more crime and drama and that was nice. Furthermore, there was excellent acting and beautiful nature images.

Just can't get enough of it

In a desperate attempt to escape his drab, bourgeois life, Danish Martin [Rasmus Bjerg] has used a work team-building outing as an excuse to leave for Norway. Dressed like a Viking and armed with a bow and arrow, he survives in the Norwegian wilderness, without money or credit card. Due to a conflict in the local supermarket, the police catch sight of him. Martin finds support in the injured Musa [Zaki Youssef], whom he patches up and with whom he decides to join an enclave in the Guddalen Valley where the “residents live like real Vikings”. Genre-transcending gem in which Daneskov switches effortlessly between tragicomedy and crime thriller. And so it is alternately hilarious, exciting and even moving. Excellent acting across the board, with Bjerg, Bjørn Sundquist (as chief of police) and Rune Temte (as the leader of the enclave) as standouts.
