Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation plot

The nerds take control of college life again, but a new wave of athletes arrives. These will have to take the school back from the nerds; the headmaster of the school helps them with that and the nerds have a hard time again. Harold Skolnick could use some help from his Uncle Lewis, the hero from the previous two films. However, Lewis is not eager to help his cousin, but after much insistence - including from his wife - the classic nerd tricks are again taken out of the closet.

Worthless third part in the Revenge of the Nerds series Compared to the first and second part, nothing original is thought of anymore and the jokes are almost all too bland for words and unfortunately not fun at all. Even then they apparently already knew how to milk a certain series. Just like with the Police Academy series, it goes downhill fast from here!

0.5*

This third part has fallen very deep. The film is not well developed at all and cannot really captivate at any point. Did the makers really think they could still make an impression by serving up the same morality again?

I mean, what were they thinking?

This is one of the lamest movies ever made. No joke really works. Most of the time the joke doesn't even matter and they just focus on that typical nerd smile, which by now irritates more than amuses.

There are a lot of silly moments in this mess. The rap scene that came out of nowhere when they first visited the dorm, Lewis trying to suppress his laughter, the courtroom scenes, all food for the trash can.

The entry of the new geeks may be the worst idea they've had. Every character is just completely redundant. They really let the movie down. Why were they included in the script at all, if it's all about Lewis and Dean Gable after all?

"The Next Generation" is a misleading title, perhaps for the better.

Acting performances are lame, like just about everything else. Direction, soundtrack. sigh. And just when I thought I'd seen it all, the old cast reappears. Man, that Gilbert has grown fat.

flop.

With this film, many protagonists dropped out of the first two parts of the "Revenge of the Nerds". Actually, only Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong remained faithful to this film as the most famous from the previous parts. But all in all, this film was a sad intention and it was actually nowhere funny. The nice thing about this film was the playing along of Ted McGinley, among others known from the series "Married with Children". He saved this film a little bit but it doesn't amount to much.
