Sandler hasn't been who he used to be in recent years. Not in terms of the quality of his films. Either they're entertaining at most, but most of them were just weak. So I didn't really start Just Go With it with high expectations, but maybe that's why the film is a direct hit for me.

Although the story is quite taken aback and especially in the second act sometimes contains a forcing moment, the writers have done well to make the characters human except for a single character, so that it all still comes across as 'credible' . The strength of this film is the chemistry between Sandler and Anniston. I thought they played really well together and their jousting at each other was often hilarious. Although I started the film with low expectations, I have to say that I think the film is just 'objectively' good. Even with low expectations you can find a film entertaining but with this one I laughed too hard too often that it is only because of that. Kidman's crazy supporting role is also quite nice and that Decker could be my next Baywatch babe. The fact that the film also contains a heart that is still well substantiated only makes the film more complete and makes Just Go With It the most pleasant surprise of Sandler's oeuvre after 2010.

Just Go With it is a thoroughly entertaining and at the same time hilarious comedy courtesy of Sandler and Anniston who conjure up perfect screen chemistry in an over-the-top story that remains solid enough to maintain a tight level

3.75/5

What a relentless mess those Adam Sandler movies are. It's all the same taking the sheet with such an impossible relationship, contrived antics and then an ending where everything turns out all right. Not a single smile could get rid of me. The only bright spot was the acting of Aniston's daughter, who has acting ambitions in the film and managed to interpret it all well.

“I would create a fake family for that.”

Great comedy. Sandler and Aniston make an unexpectedly fun couple, and you know from the start that these two are more than just boss/employee. There is chemistry between the two actors and that is always important in these kinds of films. The child actors are sometimes funny and Brooklyn Decker well… Too bad about the painfully unfunny role of Kidman. But Just Go with It is an entertaining rom-com, and the fact that the story moves to Hawaii is also a plus.
