Worthless sequel to an already mediocre remake. The setting there in the eastern bloc always feels so cheap, so here again. Furthermore, the cast is very mediocre and you actually hope that everyone is killed as soon as possible. It helps that there were still some euros to make the action/gore scenes look reasonable.

Nothing new under the sun and this Fright Night film adaptation also contains all the elements from the previous Fright Night films (especially those from the 80s) such as boy who happens to see something, virgin girl who needs to be saved, stupid boyfriend who becomes a vampire and of course a television vampire hunter who initially comes across as a coward. So in that respect this film is not at all innovative or surprising.

Despite the fact that it is all a repetition of moves, the execution of the story was still okay and that was mainly due to the beautiful Jaime Murray (I know her mainly because of the nice crime series "Hustle") in the role of vampire Gerri Dandridge. Also, the visuals (including an animation and also some nudity of Ana Maria Saragia, who had quite nice nipples) all looked nice and the effects were quite nice. Even the horror was meritorious and there is even some gore in it. The story even managed to captivate me a bit and the pace is also quite high, so that it never really becomes annoying or boring. The ending was also not bad, but of course cliché and predictable. Apart from Jaime Murray, the other unknown cast honestly did not amount to much and they did not convince anywhere. In particular, leading actor Will Payne in the role of Charley Brewster was not convincing and Chris Waller in the role of the stupid boyfriend Ed Bates, was even annoying.

Nothing more than entertaining to have seen once and especially because of the beautiful Jaime Murray, who can also come and suck me dry

Charley Brewster [Will Payne] attends a guest lecture in Romania with his good friend 'Evil' Ed [Chris Waller] and makes futile attempts to patch up the broken relationship with Amy [Sacha Parkinson]. From his hotel room he spies on a vampire who is busy seducing a victim. It turns out to be none other than Gerri Dandridge [Jaime Murray], the art history teacher from whom Charley is supposed to take classes. And Gerri knows that Charley has seen her. Peter Vincent [Sean Power] is a womanizing paranormal investigator and of course he is there to prevent Gerri from making more victims. Not a sequel, but a remake of Fright Night (1985) with a few adjustments (including a dull romantic subplot), an inferior cast and a chronic lack of self-mockery and (successful) jokes. The finale does have the necessary bravado.
