Seven skits on the theme of sex. The skits are about a jester in a castle, a psychologist who falls for an Armenian sheep, an Italian woman who refuses to cum, a man who likes to wear women's clothes, a game show about perverted habits, an experiment by Dr. Bernardo that gets terribly out of hand and what it takes to make a man cum.

Mediocre.

I think it's the first time I've seen Allen in a full-blooded comedy. His films are often light-hearted, often also funny, but they are never real comedies (as in typical genre work). It's a bit different in this movie.

It makes 2 and a half funny skit. That's somewhat limited to a total of 7 sketches. What's Your Perversion? I liked by far the best, but the sheep story was also quite dry/absurd. The highlights of this movie.

I already knew the last sketch in terms of setup (Alles Kan Beter did it once after Allen and after seeing Inside Out yesterday probably a bit overkill), is nice in idea, but is a bit disappointing in terms of execution. In between there is sometimes a successful joke (that black actor between a lot of white sperm) but it is all rather bland and cheaply performed.

Bit difficult to judge whether or not I could appreciate Allen as a pure comedy director. This film was mainly very variable, with too few highlights to speak of a successful film.

Woody Allen started his career as a stand-up comedian and it shows here, especially in the first part, where he plays a court jester. He once said that he regrets making this one and doesn't like being reminded of "the early funny ones". However, there are samples of absurd humor in it. At the most you can say that he is a bit erratic. The first two and the last are especially good.

The title is borrowed from a serious book about sex education, each with a question to be answered. The court jester section contains references to Shakespeare: the ghost in Hamlet and the love potion in A Midsummer Night's Dream. There are anachronisms in and asides that break the fourth wall. The section with Gene Wilder, on sodomy or bestialism, is surprisingly slow and dark for such a frivolous subject. Rarely has an Armenian sheep been so attractive. The third part is a tribute to Italian directors, but the idea of dub the actors in Italian doesn't really work. Louise Lasser in a wig looks like Mia Farrow.

The chase through the giant chest in part six is surreal and reminiscent of Dalí or Terry Gilliam's animations. You can also see a language joke in it, because a "great tit" is English for a great tit. Being chased by a great tit is already less absurd. The idea for the final part, with small people who control the bodily functions from within, was once the reason for a sketch in Alles Kan Beter. In short, there are memorable moments of delicious nonsense in it.
