Very mediocre.

Although fortunately it was more hit & miss than it was continuously boring. Only the miss count was seriously higher in this romantic comedy.

Always difficult when the protagonist is also a director. I have the feeling that Rosenbaum had already proven himself elsewhere, but here he clearly takes too much on his fork. The film is cluttered with lame clichés and the direction does nothing to obscure this even slightly. What remains are a few funny jokes.

The set-up is familiar, the ending perhaps a little more down to earth than usual, but the characters lack charm and the whole is presented much more as a comedy. Many jokes are lame, almost cheap. They lack timing, go on too long, or just aren't funny at all. Every now and then there is a successful moment, which fortunately provides a few heartfelt smiles.

Canadian humor can be fun, but they seem to be aping too much Hollywood here. The result is a tame mix of two worlds, which only occasionally gets funny.

1.5*

Mediocre comedy that is full of the typical poop/sex jokes where some scenes are funny. But it's too much of that kind of joke. The other jokes don't work most of the time and the characters are very superficial in development. The protagonist and also the director Michael Rosenbaum doesn't really know what he wants throughout the film, both in terms of actor and direction. The rest of the cast is below average and in terms of characters they are nothing. Now take the roles of his friends T (Isaiah Mustafa) and Len (Kristoffer Polaha). You wonder what they contribute to the film. Skunk (Harland Williams), the other friend, may just be the nerd and dork. But he still has some content Fortunately, there is still Laurie ( Morena Baccarin ) who gives the eye something. A beautiful and talented actress with a warm smile, best known from the series Homeland and the films Deadpool. Andrea Bogart as Stephanie, the cheerleader is also fun in her role. Little nude is taken care of by the busty Crystal Rose Farmer as a stripper. What you can appreciate is the elaboration of the final scene, which is unexpectedly unpredictable and counteracts the corniness. 5/10
