The Good Old Boys plot
Hewey Calloway is one of the last cowboys to wander the ranches in search of work. When he visits his brother Walter, he discovers that he has financial problems. Hewey decides to help his brother temporarily and then hit the road again. Then he meets Spring and falls in love, but the free life continues to draw him. When Walter breaks his leg, his wife insists Hewey stay to save the ranch from destruction.
