Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End plot

"At the end of the world, the adventure begins."

In these dark times when pirates are heartlessly murdered and pirate ships are mercilessly destroyed, Captain Barbossa, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann and the crew of the Black Pearl decide to travel to the ends of the world to find Captain Jack Sparrow. To get there, they must first pass pirate Captain Sao Feng in dangerous but exotic Singapore to get his ship and the important map that will take them to the ends of the world. When Jack is found, his captivity seems to have made him even crazier.

Better than part 1.

Especially the first "part". Some more characters (especially nicer ones). But especially the part on the white plain with the crabs was very nice. Moments like that really resonate with me.

The film does come together really hard at the end. The meeting on the small island was still nice, then a very boring battle follows from which I missed a few parts. No idea why, but those large-scale battles are always portrayed in the most boring unimaginative way. Thought it was a huge hit.

Didn't like the film as a whole, but a few separate parts were nice to see once. Continues to take way too long and people like Bloom really don't have to act for me anymore.

1.5*, especially for the first 2 hours then.

Closing of part 2 in that sense and despite the ever increasing length of all parts I personally find this more entertaining than part 2.

The usual spectacle again passes the viewer with the necessary atmosphere and style. Compared to part 2, I find this part a bit more focused on humor and funny dialogues and less on funny action moments that are sometimes a bit over the top.

Fortunately Barbossa is back and Davy Jones gets more airtime and I have to say that I find Rush and Nighy downright delicious, even better than Depp who is a bit repetitive with Jack. I think the situation that Elizabeth and William suddenly have to get married in the middle of the final fight is just too much, although Barbossa does lead the ceremony in a humorous way.

Entertaining, spectacle, humor.... just fun. Part 1 is still the best.

Cutler Beckett [declares a state of emergency in the Caribbean to fight against anyone in the least affected by the piracy that threatens The East India Trading Company. That's why the most infamous pirate captains can't help but join forces and travel to 'Farthest Gate' where Jack Sparrow [Johnny Depp] is locked up. Because only if all Pirate Lords decide to work together will they stand a chance against Cutler Beckett and Davy Jones. Verbinski finally finds the right mix of action and humor, helped by a scenario that gives Knightley and Bloom in particular a more prominent and challenging role, is averse to stereotypes and once again plays into the rivalry between Sparrow and Barbossa [Geoffrey Rush. There is also one very moving scene with Jonathan Pryce as Elizabeth's father. Next: Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides.
