"A power beyond measure requires a protector without equal."
The film tells the story of a mysterious immortal Tibetan kung-fu master. He has spent the past 60 years traveling the world protecting an ancient document that holds the key to unlimited power. However, the monk has to look for a new protector and decides to train the young Kar. Together they try to protect the world by keeping the document out of the hands of an evil kung-fu master.

Still a pretty enjoyable snack. I think Chow Yun Fat needed some extra cash, because this is obviously not one of its highlights. The film actually looks quite cheap at certain moments. Were it not that I did enjoy the action and the humorous moments. Chow Yun Fat plays reasonably well and that silly Sean William Scott also provided a funny supporting role.

Anyone who denies that this is a Matrix ripoff should put The Matrix and this movie side by side. Obviously the best point about this movie is Sean William Scott. Thanks to him, the film still stands. Otherwise just a clunky film with, on the contrary, lousy Special Effects to The Matrix.

An action film full of cartoonish characters, it is based on a comic. It is not a successful film with an American take on kung-fu and Tibetan culture, reduced to an Asian actor reading fortune cookies. Chow Yun-fat still holds his own in this film, but it seems like he's on duty to look after the kids while the parents are out for a night out. It's still just entertaining enough, but that's about it.
