Jody and Kendra do everything they can to land the lead role in the big dance performance. In the shadow of these two ladies, Heather Daltry (Molly Shannon), the company's top dancer for many years, is completely blown away when she is pushed aside by management.

I had seen all parts and was curious about the 5th. I had already seen the ratings and was prepared, but that bad?? No, I didn't expect that.... Still it's great that a comedy film doesn't make you laugh once. Not even the bloopers at the end.

Where the previous parts were released (approximately) every three years, this fifth part came out exactly seven years later. With Malcolm D. Lee at the helm, Scary Movie 5 literally sinks to the bottom of the sea. The film lacks a lot that made the previous four parts funny and entertaining. Let alone that director Malcolm D. Lee did his best for this. The director himself was more present in his other film production than he was involved in the production of this film. In addition, a lot of writing and production work ended up with David Zucker, who also couldn't handle this anymore. Yet Zucker is no stranger to the film series, he proved himself with, among other things, the third and fourth part of the series. But here he doesn't seem to be at his best. The jokes are very wrong and come across very badly. Where many films are ridiculed, there is only some recognition, but even this does not seem fun or entertaining. The casting has already been completely messed up because many actors from the previous films have turned down the roles, they probably didn't see any good in this. In addition, the Wayans Brothers were also asked to direct the work, but it turned out that they were already working on something else. As if the idea had been stolen, they later came up with a similar film called A Haunted House (2013). It's a shame that such a film series like Scary Movie has to end like this.

This makes this fifth part the horror of the other four successful films.

Also revised.

Now that I have also revised part 5 I can safely close the series again. Of all the parts, 5 got the most damning reviews, and I can understand that. It's pretty messy, but I used to think the movie was hilarious and I can honestly still laugh about it. Of course because I am a horror fan I think so.

In terms of structure, this film is a lot more restless and faster compared to all the other parts in the series. The first were more for dirty humor, after that it was more slapstick with budget. This part changes things up again and just decides to bet everything on dry jokes without any kind of logic or intelligence. Not that the series had this at all, but this fifth part sinks a little deeper into it.

This movie actually makes its jokes with such bad timing that they hit the mark on a regular basis. Faintness at its best, but I actually like it. Lots of horror references but also strings to films that have nothing to do with the horror genre. Normally this goes wrong, but I thought this part solved it quite nicely, and that was by just not giving fucks.

The acting is decent, even if Tisdale isn't the most worthy replacement for Faris. The rest of the cast is pretty well known, even if there isn't one person who is really funnier than the other. Actors like Snoop Dogg are better off with singing, but I like other members like Rex a bit more.

This film is completely retarded and the scenes follow each other at an almost unnaturally fast pace. The film is therefore quite messy and restless, but I liked the complete dryness of the film. I've been able to laugh regularly at the film, whether it's silly humor or not. Nice entertainment for once.
