Nice.

I didn't even notice that the film is so long. What a viewing feast it is after all. And not only beautiful cinematography, the entire design is also brilliantly implemented. It's great that Verbinski was able and dared to make his choices. Beautifully different and absurd and here and there far over the edge of gruesome.

A lot of rattling about that the story wouldn't be strong enough, but I thought that was not too bad - I was not bored for a moment, didn't find a breaking tension, and I also didn't think there were unnecessary things in it. Certainly beautifully played, though maybe not quite acting in the traditional way. After all, a lot of non-verbal acting.

I think this is the most beautiful movie I saw this year. Wondering if anyone can top this.

It takes you by the scratch, And you are totally taken in.

The mysterious images, almost psychedelic at times, you might say., To which the wonderfully subtle soundtrack also contributes.

I'm not a huge fan of Gore Verbinski, especially the pirate movies are totally over the top, apart from the somewhat long running time you won't see anything of that.

Of course you can always find fault with it, the ending demands a lot from your imagination, I certainly have some doubts about that, it's not a masterpiece.

But the fact that I finally got to see a movie that where I lost myself, doesn't happen often unfortunately.

hence for me a large enough, and recommended.

Mixed feelings.

Visually, however, well worth the effort. Beautiful images, both inside and out. But afterwards I was left with a bit of an unpleasant feeling. There is no telling what kind of movie it is. thriller? Drama? Mystery? fantasy? A little bit of everything, but not well executed in any way. And with that ending I really couldn't do anything.

2.5* for the beautiful images.
