I still can't do anything with this. Where I think The Quickening is a heavily underrated film, I can relate very well to the low rating here. As a sequel, I find the story too forced and unbelievable. Essentially, the gathering of the first part is denied here. However, The Sorcerer fails on more than one level. The fights are suddenly much less and also badly shot. The whole piece with Nakano has potential in the very beginning, but once his wizarding skills are exposed, it ruins the entire film. Mario van Peebles is too clownish for me as a bad guy and should not even be in the shadow of the Kurgan and General Katana. Then I find his sidekick with his dry 'shut up' at least still comical.

Where the first two films are still professional productions, the amateurism shines through here. The quality is more similar to that of the TV series (which I was never really impressed with either). The references to the first film eventually become a bit pathetic. Definitely the new romance that should make you forget the heartbreaking moment with Heather. This is not even close to quality. Other pieces even seem to contradict certain moments from the first films. The Sorcerer is quite redundant as an addition to the Highlander saga. Christopher Lambert may have the most beautiful opponent, but also clearly plays his least role here.
