The Virginian plot
The Virginian is set at the end of the nineteenth century, around 1890. The main character of the series is the taciturn, secretive Virginian whose real name nobody really knows. The Virginian works at the Shiloh ranch. The owner of this ranch is Judge Henry Garth. The Virginian always gets involved with his best friend Trampas in all kinds of adventures.

Laramie was broadcast in its entirety on German television. By the way, I'm just a little too young to remember anything about it. On the German Amazon I once found DVDs with a few episodes.
That Gunsmoke has never been shown on Dutch television really surprises me. That means everything I've ever seen must have been on German television. Incidentally, in the 1970s a double episode from 1967 was broadcast on television as a full-length feature film.
I also know The Virginian thanks to our eastern neighbors. The series was broadcast under the name Die Leute von der Shiloh Ranch roughly between 1972 and 1980. In the second half of the seventies many episodes were seen on Saturday night. During that period you could also see episodes of a relatively unknown but great western series Cimarron Strip.
At the moment I am somewhat limited in my possibilities to watch all those western series; My region free DVD player has died.
