What a story about 'one happy family'! The tension remains from the first to the last part. Well set up, eg the titles of the individual parts with corresponding content. The great thing is that it can go in all directions for a really long time so that the whole remains fascinating, but which is also a small disadvantage because the patience is tested; when will the truth finally come out? Great series, well played, typical music and never knew there was an English version of '99 Luftballons'. And nice that Julia and Ben have the same names in the series.

Nice mini-series. The set-up in which a different character is central per episode works well, the tension is built up nicely and concluded satisfactorily in the last episode. If you're having trouble stopping after an episode, that's a good sign, and it certainly was after Episodes 4 and 5.

Julia Ormond (built 1965) plays in Gold Digger Julia, a very rich, attractive and whistling woman of 60. Prosperous, pretty and sweet are things that early thirties Ben (Ben Barnes) falls for. Is this cheating or is this love, and is Ben just an Old Digger? Enough for 6 episodes of family drama and mounting emotions. The story feels forced, maybe not necessarily unbelievable, but it does pinch a bit; as if from a top hat, the secrets quickly bubble to the surface. Just when we look! In addition, both the main characters and the other family members know how to keep you at a good distance. There is little compassion on the part of the viewer. Fortunately, the middle part of the series looks pleasant. And county Devon in southern England is invitingly portrayed. A mixed bag.
