Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles plot

The series picks up where Terminator 2: Judgment Day left off. Sarah and John managed to destroy T-1000. After this, the Terminator kills himself to prevent Skynet from using his technology. Sarah and John are left in a complicated and dangerous world, where they, as fugitives, are confronted with the reality, where a large number of dangerous creatures/machines still roam.

Een beetje een slowburner serie die zijn tijd neemt. Misschien wel iets te veel tijd, met zijn 9 afleveringen is er niet veel tijd om iets te doen, dus moet je iets sneller zijn met plot punten, karakterontwikkelingen en onthullingen. Een serie die natuurlijk ook gebouwd is rondom het succes van de eerste twee Terminator films. Dus is het al moeilijk om dat te evenaren. Moet zeggen dat de serie dat ook niet echt probeert en iets eigens probeert te zijn. Het bevat wel elementen en personages uit de film waar naar terugverwezen wordt. Wat de serie dus een beetje de das om doet is dat het te lang zijn tijd neemt. Waar je normaal met zo'n 12 tot 21(?) afleveringen werkt zijn het hier maar 9. Het is dan pas in de laatste 3/4 afleveringen dat de serie helemaal loskomt en naar een veel hoger niveau stijgt dan in de eerste 6/7 afleveringen. De ontwikkelingen beginnen mooie op elkaar aan te sluiten en ook op de films Boens personage bijvoorbeeld . Ook bevat het genoeg eigen ontwikkelingen die hier nog interessanter zijn dan in de recent uitgekomen film Terminator: Genisys. Acteerwerk is zeer goed hier. Lena Heady is naast een prachitge dame een goede actrice en dat laat ze hier ook zeker zien. Dekker, hmm, moest even aan hem wennen. Brian Austin Green is erg op dreef en Shirley Manson zet een behoorlijk creepy personage neer. Maar degene die alle aandacht naar zich toe trekt is Summer Glau. Wat doet zij het goed. Met erg veel commitment en plezier. Effecten zijn gezien het budget ook hoogstaand. Zowel visual als practical en make-up effecten. Allen nagenoeg perfect. De actie is zeer goed in beeld gebracht. Nog niet heel hoogstaand, maar zeker een plezier om naar te kijken.

A bit of a slowburner series that takes its time.

Perhaps a little too much time, with its 9 episodes there isn't much time to do anything so you need to be a little faster with plot points, character development and reveals. A series that is of course also built around the success of the first two Terminator films. So it's already hard to match that. Have to say that the series doesn't really try and try to be something its own. It does contain elements and characters from the film that are referenced back to.

So what the series is a bit of a blow to is that it takes too long. Where you normally work with about 12 to 21(?) episodes, here it is only 9. It is only in the last 3/4 episodes that the series comes loose and rises to a much higher level than in the first 6/ 7 episodes. The developments are starting to connect nicely with each other and also with the films Boen's character, for example . It also contains enough own developments that are even more interesting here than in the recently released film Terminator: Genisys.

Acting is very good here. Besides being a beautiful lady, Lena Heady is a good actress and she certainly shows that here. Dekker, hmm, had to get used to him. Brian Austin Green is on a roll and Shirley Manson puts on a pretty creepy character. But the one who draws all the attention is Summer Glau. How well she is doing. With a lot of commitment and pleasure.

Securities are also high considering the budget. Visual as well as practical and make-up effects. All almost perfect. The action is very well portrayed. Not very high quality yet, but certainly a pleasure to watch.

Vorige week en deze week het gehele seizoen 1 en 2 gezien, moet zeggen dat het mij wel weer vermaakt heeft, weer een nieuw hoofdstuk na Terminator 2: Judgement day , het verhaal gaat hierna verder, elk stuk heeft wel een spannend stuk in zitten, al had ik wel wat meer actie verwacht, het verhaal was wel origineel en gaat dus steeds verder en verder, soms leek het net een los deel te zijn, maar als je dan weer verder kijkt komt het toch weer tot 1 verhaal. Ik heb seizoen 2 dus ook helemaal gezien, maar 1 of 2 heeft evenveel actie en elk stuk heeft wel iets, ook goed gespeeld door John Connor zuster (de robot) die hen helpt en in seizoen 2 was John Henry best creepy. Bij het einde van seizoen 2 komt er een grote explosie aan actie en heeft het een apart en verassend einde.

Saw the entire season 1 and 2 last week and this week, must say that it entertained me again, another new chapter after Terminator 2: Judgment day , the story continues after this, every part has an exciting part, although I had expected a bit more action, the story was original and therefore goes further and further, sometimes it just seemed to be a separate part, but when you look further it comes back to 1 story.

So I've seen season 2 completely, but 1 or 2 has the same amount of action and every piece has something, also well played by John Connor sister (the robot) who helps them and in season 2 John Henry was quite creepy.

At the end of season 2 there is a big explosion of action and it has a special and surprising ending.
