Counterpart plot

The spy thriller Counterpart follows a man named Howard Silk, a low-ranking employee in a bureaucratic machine of a UN espionage agency stationed in Berlin. When Howard learns that his organization is keeping a secret of how to travel to a parallel universe, he is drawn into a dark world of intrigue, danger and deceit. The only man he can trust is Prime, his nearly identical counterpart in this parallel world.

Het concept van de alternatieve wereld in deze serie deed me een beetje denken aan The Man in the High Castle (Serie, 2015 - 2019). Het verhaal van Counterpart is niet echt indrukwekkend, net zoals het thrillergehalte. Het is blijvend opletten wie nu wie is en aan welke kant hij of zij zich bevindt. De sfeer is perfect uitgebeeld en er zijn een paar rollen die uitstekend neergezet worden, zoals die van Mira. Prima dat er na twee seizoenen een einde aan kwam, het zou anders te saai zijn geworden.

The concept of the alternate world in this series reminded me a bit of The Man in the High Castle (Series, 2015 - 2019). The story of Counterpart is not really impressive, nor is the thriller content. You have to keep paying attention to who is who and which side he or she is on. The atmosphere is perfectly portrayed and there are a few roles that are excellently portrayed, such as Mira. It's good that it ended after two seasons, otherwise it would have become too boring.
