The series follows prospectors Dustin Hurt and his father "Dakota" Fred Hurt, who return to McKinley Creek in Haines Borough, Alaska. The Dakota Boys assemble a team of intrepid divers, mountaineers and mechanics to mine places where a miner has never gone before—the depths of the icy, rough waters of White Water Rapids that have only recently become accessible. Nothing will stop these guys - they dive into raging waves with a large trailing suction dredger, where one wrong move can have deadly consequences.
