The Gilded Age plot
The Gilded Age was a period in American history of immense economic prosperity. Huge fortunes of 'new money' were amassed by successful industrial entrepreneurs; fortunes of 'old money' were lost by families of patricians. The young orphan Marian Brook goes to live with her wealthy aunts Agnes van Rhijn and Ada Brook in New York. She is joined by the Peggy Scott, a successful woman of color. Marian unintentionally becomes involved in a feud between one of her aunts, a representative of 'old money', and her neighbour, the Russells, who have become rich with 'new money' through their railway company.

Although this is also from the pen of Julian Fellows, the storylines are slightly less compared to Downton Abbey. The same goes for the overall production. Nevertheless, I certainly enjoyed this and the period and place are also interesting.
