Morse: "Bear is food."

Lewis: "It's for you!"

Already a long way on the road with seeing the entire series again. I had to get used to the Morse character a bit, because he's not an easy guy. But just like with Frost, for example, you can still enjoy the quality and atmosphere of a sincere English detective who doesn't have to rely on unbelievable twists, exaggerated gory and action or other nonsense. And one of the most beautiful recognition tunes I know, always at the end of the episode.

The (beautiful) setting in upscale Oxford and its environs often produces special things and characters, but Morse himself, with the initially somewhat goofy 'counterpart / assistant' Lewis as a refreshing contrast, is an exemplary warlike grumble with often interesting reflections and perspectives.

Every episode is completely spot on, but for now the favorite is 'Cherubim and Seraphim', because Morse's personal involvement in the case turns out very interesting and the image of youth in the 90s, which is quite familiar to me, appeals extra.

From 4.0* to 4.5*, which has been coming for a while.
