Industry plot

The series follows a group of young graduates who compete for a limited number of permanent positions at a leading investment bank in London. The lines between colleague, friend, lover and foe soon blur as they delve into a corporate culture as defined by sex, drugs and ego as it is by deals and dividends. As members of the group fall and rise, they must decide whether life is about more than the main thing.

The third season of the American-British Industry is the best yet. This thrill ride is a breath-taking journey from personal crisis to financial crisis, and back again. Risk. Reward. Repeat. Millions fly carelessly over and under the table. The comparison with Succession is obvious, as is the Norwegian Exit; how do you survive in a hard, cold and commercial world? And what remains of your own morals?

With excellent leading roles for Marisa Abela (as Yasmin) and Myha'la (Harper), the acting is stunning. The role of Eric Tao (Ken Leung) also stands out. Alternately sly, villainous, cunning, insecure, vulnerable and determined, Tao tries to work his way to the top of investment bank Pierpoint & Co. Ultimately, all the main characters are looking for recognition and love. And that is quite a task in a world full of destructive characters. And a world in which showing emotions is a mortal sin.

What immediately stands out about Industry is the sharp and venomous dialogues. In this third season, they are no less than those of the best seasons of Succession. And so we watch an 8-course Michelin star menu served by a fast food chain. This is fast, tasty and merciless top entertainment.
