Greenleaf plot

The Greenleaf family, consisting of Bishop James Greenleaf, his wife Mae and Mae's sister, Mavis McCready, heads a megachurch, the Greenleaf World Ministries. Like many megachurches in America, the Greenleaf World Ministries is more than a place of worship, it is a home to many people. But beneath that lies a world of iniquity.

Greenleaf season 1

I do have a soft spot for 'Greenleaf'. The hypocritical and fallible characters who beat each other over the ears with Bible quotes or colorful metaphors. The fine gospel music. All-too-human desires (power, lust, greed) as the main motivation for wanting to run such a megachurch in the first place. I actually have a soft spot for all the characters, but Robert McCready in particular is such a wonderful soap opera schemer that you can't help but hate. Also nice to see Oprah Winfrey in a supporting role that she seems to enjoy.
