Another fantastic exciting good true Scandinavian series. I watched them in one go. I do like that the series are not too long, because they usually look for all kinds of side trips to get enough episodes.

Sweden has fewer inhabitants than Belgium, and certainly than the Netherlands, but they have a lot of good actors and actresses and a lot of good series and films.

When I look at the films and series in B and N, sad...

Sober and modest four-part Swedish drama about the years-long investigation into a double murder in Linköping in 2004. In terms of design, Genombrottet is reminiscent of the Danish The Investigation; the focus is not on the suspected perpetrator, but on the investigation and its impact on the survivors. After the murder of Prime Minister Olaf Palme, this investigation has the longest running time. Points are deducted for the make-up. The actors hardly seem to age in these 16 years, but the atmosphere and pace make up for a lot. Genombrottet is a nice and modest true crime series.

Exciting, fascinating four-part mini-series about a shocking double murder in Linköping (Sweden), which is finally solved after sixteen years through complex genealogical research. The first episode suggests a solid, if rather standard Scandinavian crime thriller, but from episode two onwards the plot and characters become a lot more interesting. Perhaps too subtle and emotionally charged for the average thriller viewer, but I found this a particularly compelling, beautifully played and moving mini-series.
