Dokter Tinus plot

Actor Thom Hoffman plays the lead role of the successful vascular surgeon who is suddenly confronted with a blood phobia, which makes it impossible for him to continue his work in the hospital. So he moves from the capital to the countryside and starts working as the only doctor in the village where he only knows his aunt. His predecessor was very popular, so a warm welcome for the newcomer is not obvious. The doctor's capacity for empathy leaves much to be desired, which makes it even more difficult for him to conquer his place within the close-knit community.

Dokter Tinus season 1

Thom Hoffman remains fun as Doctor Martinus Elzenbosch, but unfortunately the tone of the series as a whole is very well-behaved and sluggish. The main tension in each episode is whether the doctor and the schoolmistress are finally getting back together. Over time, the overly cute characters of Tygo Gernandt, Jack Wouterse, Jennifer Hoffman, and Kitty Courbois also started nagging me. By the way, I enjoyed watching the series and I definitely recommend it to people who are looking for some light-hearted entertainment.
