Chairman of the Jewish Council David Cohen continues to move with the German occupier until the end 'to prevent worse.' In doing so, he unintentionally paves the way for the deportation of 100,000 Jewish Dutch people. His daughter Virrie, at the risk of her own life, allows hundreds of Jewish children to go into hiding and thus saves them from deportation. A story about a father and a daughter who increasingly lose each other in a world that only knows death and destruction.
