Beauty and the Beast plot

Catherine Chandler is a wealthy New York District Attorney. One day she is ambushed and taken, after which she is left in a park. Vincent, an eccentric who lives in the forgotten tunnels beneath the city, takes her to his abode where she can recover. Catherine then resumes her life, but keeps in touch with Vincent, who feels empathetic to her and occasionally comes to rescue her from difficult situations. This creates a close bond between the two.
