1883 plot
The Dutton family heads west through the last bastion of untamed America. James arrives in Texas, where he and his family prepare to make their way across "The Great Plains" in search of a new home and the promise of opportunity. Thomas and Shea recruit James and some local cowboys to round up a herd of cattle. As they embark on their journey, the caravan will face some of the many dangers they will encounter along the way. The story of a family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America's promised land - Montana.

Wonderful series, with my favorite artist (country music) that I have ever seen perform in the US, namely Tim McGraw. His wife Faith Hill also plays along, who is also a very well-known country music star. I thought the series was very good, only if I wanted it to be a little shorter, I think that of most series by the way...

One of the nicest shows I've seen. Always love the western theme. Although most westerns are made for entertainment and usually not based on the truth. This series had it all. Good story, nice way of telling (from the young female protagonist), beautiful costumes, environment etc.
I think it gives a good look at how immigrants moved west and what dangers they encountered! Sam Elliott was also very good in his role.
Next stop: 1923. Will be streaming from today.
