Clarkson's Farm season 1

Sympathetic, often very funny series about former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson's attempts to keep his farm going. Setback after setback is his share, but with the help of his ever-present sense of humor and an array of local colleagues, he bravely navigates farm life. Those locals are a genius find by the way and the interaction between them and Clarkson is often worth gold. Especially the young farmer Kaleb is great and continuously steals the show. Some things have certainly been staged, but it is not disturbing anywhere.

Clarkson's Farm season 2

Again a series that you can watch completely in 2 to 3 days (just like Season 1). Each episode flies by and is comparable to season 1. And as we are used to from England, again beautifully portrayed. And although a lot will be scripted, although the humor is probably already written in advance, one thing struck me and that was the moment that it became too much for Clarkson during the opening of the restaurant in which he couldn't take it anymore. That's when I think we saw the real Clarkson as he can be. A blunt rake who curses and rants when things don't go the way he wants. Nice to see that they have also left this in the series.

Clarkson's Farm season 2

Season 1 was pretty fun - a lot of humor, a lot of self-reflection. But that is completely gone in this second season, we now get to see the real Clarkson and he turns out to be an annoying and childish little man who repeats the same mantra every time. It is constantly crying-crying, they are not honest. But he does forget that all those rules he argues against have been made for people like him. He does forget that he himself was very much in favor of Brexit, and therefore has no right to complain about it now. He does forget that if the population of the village is against him, it is mainly because he made it to it himself. But as I mentioned, the self-reflection is gone, and what comes back is a modified version of Jerusalem to musically frame JC's gospel - and yes, it actually seems that he sees himself as the come-again son of God Himself . Just about the only moment in the entire series that makes up for it a bit comes at the very end when Pepper is being decided. But it is a very long wait for that.
