White House Farm plot

White House Farm is about the true story of a fateful night in August 1985. Five members of the same family - Sheila Caffell, her six-year-old twin sons, Daniel and Nicholas, and her parents, Nevill and June Bamber - are murdered in an Essex farmhouse. Essex police initially believe that Sheila, who was experiencing mental health issues, killed her own family before turning the gun on herself. But Detective Sergeant Stan Jones has doubts about the murder-suicide theory, and about Sheila's brother Jeremy Bamber, who was the first to call the police.

Nice series in typical British quality. Good screenplay, excellent acting. And true. There is not much to criticize, at most that it is all a bit solid and predictable. Episode 3 is top notch, but that level is not reached before and after. In short: a neat series, which lacks tension to fully captivate.

Thrilling English miniseries about the horrific true fivefold murder of members of the same family in an Essex farm in 1985. Mark Addy is excellent in the lead role, as an apparently goofy detective who grabs hold of the case and won't let go. The rest of the cast is also fine, with Stephen Graham in a major supporting role. Well made, atmospheric and compelling, as the British are so good at.
