Kind of like Bonnie and Clyde for hipsters, spiced up with a juicy British accent.
Jessica Barden and Alex Lawther form a mischievous duo with a sinister side. A bizarre chemistry quickly develops between the two and I can taste that. By the way, they didn't have much time to get used to each other: enough films that last longer than all episodes combined. Pretty cool how quickly the series immerses you in the crazy world of these two teenagers.
Not that I was constantly on the edge of my seat. At times the series drags on without many interesting things happening. The dialogues are quite witty, but you will never roll over with laughter and you don't have to expect a lot of depth.
The cameraman is always on duty, however. The images have a high rock-n-roll content and are also very well photographed. The actors, with all their imperfections, fit perfectly into that picture. In an American series they would get a 2 cm putty layer, not here. It produces raw portraits of people who are not 100% plastic.

Great series. Inventive, original and strong on several levels. At the same time, I think it's one of the most romantic and humorous series I've seen, with strong plot development over the eight episodes. The chemistry between the protagonists is strong, and they really carry this series. Furthermore, a very nice soundtrack that certainly provides more atmosphere in this series. And also not too long, 8 episodes of 20 minutes: as it should be. Just a shame that a second season was announced, because the ending was perfect for me. After Prison Break - Season 1 the best season I've seen for me. And in my top 10 it comes in at number 1. Well deserved 5.0*.

Wonderful black humor, absurd situations, coming of age, road movie (series) oh yes and that wonderful English language. Yes, this is for me.
The two protagonists Barden and Lawther are top notch.
I thought there was going to be a second season, but don't see much of it yet. Too bad, I would watch again.
