The Bob Newhart Show plot

Robert "Bob" Hartley, Ph.D., works as a psychologist in Chicago. He is married to Emily who is supportive but can also be quite sarcastic. Bob and Emily are in close contact with their friendly, but bumbling neighbor Howard Borden. A psychologist, Bob shares the building where he works with orthodontist Jerry Robinson. Receptionist Carol Kester therefore works for both Bob and Jerry. Bob tries to find the right balance between work and private life.
