Poketto Monsutâ plot

The series follows the boy Ash from the village of Pallet Town. When he turned ten, he was allowed to become a Pokémon trainer for the first time and collect his first Pokémon from Professor Oak. But he oversleeps and arrives too late to choose from one of the starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle). Because he really wants to start his Pokémon journey, Professor Oak eventually gives him a Pokémon: Pikachu. However, this Pokémon is not exactly obedient and it will be a difficult task for Ash to gain his trust. Professor Oak gives Ash a PokéDex, an electronic encyclopedia containing data on all currently occurring Pokémon from the Kanto region. Along the way, Ash meets a girl named Misty. After an affair, the two have a difficult relationship, but they decide to become travel companions. In Pewter City, Ash competes with gym leader Brock and wins the battle. Brock also decides to go with Ash and leaves his gym with his father. Together with Pikachu, the three set off for the Indigo League on the Indigo Plateau.

Was hyped fairly late (only in 5th grade and 6th grade did friends of mine talk to me that I should play this). Just in time.. Played a lot of games, even in high school. Just not enough time now, otherwise I would still play it. If there were less in terms of films and series, I might still be watching Pokémon.

Of course, the episodes are just boring. Always the same, one encounters a pokémon, something happens to it because team rocket usually kidnaps them, flee with their hot air balloon, and pikachu gives a lightning bolt and they fly into the sky. You've seen it openly, of course.

The best are the episodes where the build-up is atypical. These are the gym battles, the final battles of a certain region, or the special episodes like here on the SS Anne. The beginning is also nice, and also when someone catches a Pokémon or evolves a Pokémon. Always nice.

I still know all the Pokémon by heart, even from the last regions I know a lot of them.

Highlight of my youth series. I was in kindergarten when the series became popular in the Netherlands, before I started playing the games and collecting cards. Nice that the theme song has been given a nice spot in the Radio 2 Top2000 this year.

I gave up about the third series, but this season had the most pace and the most originality. Never thought Ash himself that special, mainly because he never really got well and saved everything by luck. The supporting characters were more interesting. Also compliments to the Dutch voice cast.

Well what can you say about this, a huge hit worldwide and I can understand why. I'm not a big fan of the whole Japanese series thing, but this series is an exception. The series devoured as a child, and even now I dare to catch myself rewatching an episode.
