MacGyver plot
Angus MacGyver, "Mac" or "MacGyver", is an intelligent action hero who prefers not to use violence and refuses to carry or use a gun because in his youth a revolver accident resulted in the death of a friend. MacGyver often makes his devices in self-defense and usually makes things that disable the enemy rather than kill them. In combination with his Swiss army knife, MacGyver comes up with all kinds of solutions for almost hopeless situations (usually a matter of life and death). Devising and making complex devices in a matter of minutes is the common thread of almost every episode.
