The Tall Texan plot
"WHERE THERE'S GOLD AND A WOMAN...YOU'LL FIND THE TALL TEXAN"
While he's being transported to jail under the direction of Sheriff Chadborune, murder convict Ben Trask, aka "The Tall Texan," tells his guards he knows where to find gold. Rich gold veins are said to be found in the Native American area, in the City of Rocks near El Paso, New Mexico. The Tall Texan is released, and at the gold prospector's camp are among his company temperamental sea captain Theodore Bess, criminal peddler Joshua "Josh" Tinnen and open-minded, self-employed Laura Thompson (who soon falls in love with him). Before long, the City of Rocks is overrun with gold miners. Despite the warnings of the local Indians, these prospectors do not want to leave and an armed conflict between the Indians and the prospectors seems inevitable.
