Mitch is a middle-aged white and brown goods salesman in the big city. He and his friends Ed and Phil are in the midst of their midlife crisis. They've decided that the best birthday present for a man is a vacation in the 'Wild West', and then drive a large herd of cattle to Mexico the old-fashioned way together.

Entertaining but a predictable film, the beautiful film locations in the desert and the fun but unfortunately too short role of Jack Palance make this film definitely worth watching.
The ending is ant and ant sweet, Hollywood once again shows what they are good at

It's nice to catch up for a change.

After seeing ¡Three Amigos! I also became interested in City Slickers. After all, I expected the same kind of movie. Ultimately, that turns out not to be the case. I certainly thought this was a very nice film, but I thought it was more of a feature film with a few jokes in between. Unfortunately, especially towards the end, there is a bit of unnecessary American sentiment involved. As a comedy in itself, there could have been more to it. Fortunately, the acting, especially that of Crystal and Stern, is nice and it is very advantageous that the film, despite a fairly long running time, never gets bored.

Billy Cristal steals the show here in his own casual way. Fine and interesting character ET he down here. A bit recognizable for a good family man who is approaching his midlife crisis or has already gotten into it. Watched the movie mainly because it stars Jake Gyllenhaal, his debut?, albeit with a minimal role as a teenager. Can I uncheck this one too?

Quite a few fine, but above all light-hearted dialogues. Not extremely profound, but populistically correct and succinct with a form of truth. That slut Phil is also quite nice and that's how it turned out to be quite an entertaining movie. Movie never gets boring. Wasn't equally successful in all areas, but as a whole it surprised me nonetheless. The ending messes it up a bit with its sentimental stuff, maja, nothing new under the sun.
