Nobi plot
Towards the end of World War II, Japanese troops invade an island in the Philippines. Here they face a fierce counter-attack from the local army and the Allies. It is only a matter of time before the last surviving Japanese are also wiped out. Private Tamura, suffering from tuberculosis, is left behind by his platoon and the mobile hospital. Consumed by hunger and disease, he begins to wander through the jungle, full of corpses. When he begins to see his companions as possible food, he crosses the threshold and enters a world where there are no friends, no enemies, and no God.
