Les Femmes de l'Ombre plot
The story of Louise, a Frenchwoman, who joined the French resistance in World War II after her husband was murdered. She is then recruited by the SOE spy agency in London. A resistance film with a group of women. Apart from that original premise, this has simply become a strong war film about the resistance. The film has enough drive, is believable and at times quite exciting. It is therefore in the first place a spy thriller and not a war film in itself.
It is mainly based on true events. Although most of the characters are made up. The actresses do well and the result has become a kind of believable Expendables. Furthermore, a nice sober filter is used when filming that provides an appropriate atmosphere. The result is one of the better resistance films.
