La Mer à l'Aube plot
October 1941. During the Nazi occupation of France, some young communists kill a German officer. In retaliation, Hitler orders the death of 150 French young men, preferably from the same political circle as the perpetrators. A 35-year-old French administrator is tasked with selecting the victims, and while the church tries to make everyone involved in the area sane, the Germans press on and the French henchmen slavishly follow.
