July 2010, Montreal, Canada. Sophie Malaterre, a 25-year-old clothing designer, has already prepared for a lonely summer in the city. She has no plans, no close friends and no boyfriend… until she hears of a website where you can switch apartments: switch.com. Sophie needs a change and decides to take a chance. What does she have to lose in the end? She is very happy when she moves into a duplex apartment in Paris, with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Paris is her dream city and her first day can't go wrong. But the next morning she is rudely awakened: the police raid her flat and Sophie discovers that she shares her flat with a decapitated corpse. She cannot prove that she is not Bénédicte Serteaux, the owner of the property. In addition, Sophie's fingerprints are on the murder weapon and Bénédicte's passport bears her photo. The net closes around her. Not only did Sophie switch apartments, she also switched identities.
