Skincare plot
"It's just a little cover-up."
Celebrity esthetician Hope Goldman is about to take her beauty career to the next level with the launch of her own skincare line. But her home and work life are put to the test when rival beautician Angel Vergara opens a new skincare boutique right across the street from her shop. Hope begins to suspect that someone is trying to sabotage her reputation and business and, together with her boyfriend Jordan, she embarks on a mission to unravel the mystery of who is trying to destroy her life.

Nice thriller with a black comic sauce. The story is quite nice and has a nice twist. The elaboration is quite successful. It is a smooth film with light tension and some comic elements. The film is also easy to watch. You see the twist coming at some point, but it is not a film that should surprise the viewer, so no problem. The nice thing is that as a viewer you already know that it is going to go off the rails, but you still know how. Banks is also comfortable in her role and is well cast. Great in-between. 3.5

Nice thriller with a very strange story about the beautician Hope Goldman who has to deal with a rival beautician Angel Vergara who is going to open a new business opposite her. Hope is gradually targeted and stalked with many nasty consequences as consequences. Can she still turn the tide? A special, strange story that is also based on true events that of course get a slightly different effect here and there. Nice movie with a really good Elizabeth Banks. 7/10

Entertaining thriller that is unfortunately predictable, which makes the ending not surprising. I don't necessarily watch the film for the twist that will surprise me, but pay much more attention to other things. A film that looks quite nice visually with a satirical view of skin care products and the marketing around it combined with paranoia. The paranoia is, in my opinion, depicted quite well in this film. It never gets really gruesome or really funny, which means you won't get bored with this film, but it won't stick around for long either.
