Solid entertaining Danish thriller as we are more used to from those parts. Nikolaj Lie Kaas does an excellent job as so often with his gruff look and character head. Ideal for such roles. He is almost the Koen De Bouw of Denmark.

Nice plot too with some sort of serial killer out to kill disabled women after marrying them first. It's a bit strange that the detectives haven't noticed this yet after a death or 2 - 3. The course is, as always, quite stereotypical with one who sees through it all in a bunch of non-believers.

For the rest a gray and lonely village, closed off from the larger cities. Solid cast, good tension and atmosphere setting. I also thought the ending was a bit weird. Why the hell does that fat have to go in the water? Just dump that body, possibly sail a little further and wait about ten minutes, right?

I was really looking forward to it, but was a bit disappointed. The tempo is not very high and that's fine, the atmosphere is nice, but man man what a meager predictable plot. Like a night candle.

Wmb just a tight enough.

This could have been an episode of Wallander or Beck, but now with Lie Kaas as a detective. The rest of the cast is also fine. Amazing how they can remodel some faces like Winther's (Hanne). Lie Kaas plays his part excellently; by the way, I occasionally wonder how he behaves in normal life. It's certainly not a bad movie, although many things were predictable from the start. Also little things when, for example, his car did not start. In any case, the atmosphere was appropriate, especially in the village of Mørke, which can be translated as 'Darkness'...
