"What happens when the numbers run out?"

In 1959, a time capsule was buried during an elementary school founding ceremony. Now, fifty years later, it is opening. A number of predictions contained in the document have yet to take place. John then does everything he can to warn the authorities, but in vain. John must now do everything he can to avert the impending danger.

For a film in this genre, there is nothing really wrong with it, and it probably also has an original approach. And I have to give it to the movie; the ending is pretty cool and cool. However, the script hangs together with snags. Anyway, I always think the 'incredibility card' is a bit bland, especially in these kinds of films, but sometimes there are really jumps that make you think 'how does Cage's character get there so directly?'. Acting performances are nothing to write home about. Especially Nicolas Cage, whom I usually (sincerely, or sometimes for meme-related reasons) appreciate, is clearly very much against his will here. Special effects of the disasters are in order, and a fairly superficial tension plus a good tempo are always present.

Knowing is a very surprising film with a strong story from start to finish. You can clearly see when the platform for Cage is of any level, his acting talent immediately comes to the fore. Very entertaining movie and enjoyed it very much.

Knowing is an SF flick with a great story, which unfortunately doesn't really convince on several levels.

Such as various scenes that rather exaggeratedly clearly present the necessary information in bite-sized chunks. Or Ben Mendelsohn's pointless role as the colleague who simply dismisses evidence that cannot be ignored. But also Cage's acting.

Knowing could have been a much better movie, in my opinion. But still what remains, a fairly exciting and fascinating story that is not immediately guessable, is really worth watching.
